Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Arusha

An Arem Safaris representative will greet you at the airport and transport you to your lodging in Arusha, where you'll spend the night, unwind, and ready yourself for the upcoming adventures. Arusha Planet Lodge offers a serene retreat, promising both tranquility and visual delight.

Day 2 Arusha to Tarangire National Park

In the morning, our safari guide will pick you up from your Arusha accommodations. We'll journey to Tarangire National Park, passing through the picturesque Maasai plains. Along the way, you'll see Maasai individuals engaging in their daily activities. Renowned for its vast elephant herds, Tarangire also boasts diverse wildlife. From our safari vehicle, we'll explore seasonal swamps, savannah, and the Tarangire River, encountering animals like zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and giraffe. If lucky, we might spot lions or leopards. After the game drive, we'll head to a mid-range lodge for dinner and relaxation amidst the wilderness.

Day 3: Karatu to Serengeti National Park

Following breakfast, our journey continues as we ascend towards the lush highlands, where the Iraqw people cultivate wheat, coffee, and corn. En route through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, we'll be treated to a breathtaking vista of the Ngorongoro Crater before pressing onward to Serengeti National Park, arriving by midday. Spanning an impressive 15,000 square kilometers, Serengeti National Park is Tanzania's largest, boasting a rich tapestry of landscapes including grassy plains, wetlands, lakes, savannah, and mountains. Here, the awe-inspiring migration of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope unfolds, offering a spectacle of nature. Depending on the season, we may witness thousands of animals in search of sustenance and water. Following an extensive game drive, we'll journey to the Seronera Valley for an evening meal and overnight stay at your chosen accommodation.

Day 4 Serengeti National Park Full Day

The entirety of today is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti through exhilarating game drives. Renowned for its vast array of wildlife, including impala, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos, the Serengeti is most famous for its remarkable migrating herds of zebra, antelope, and wildebeest. The trajectory of these animals' journey is dictated by rainfall patterns, leading them from the woodland and hilly northern regions to the expansive southern grasslands between November and December. As the longer rainy season sets in from April to June, they migrate back northward. Alongside witnessing the awe-inspiring migration, there's also the chance to encounter resident predators such as leopards, cheetahs, and lions, each playing their vital role in the circle of life. Following an unforgettable day of exploration, we'll retreat to our meticulously chosen partner tented camp, where we can unwind, savor dinner, and rest under the vast expanse of the starlit sky.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After an early breakfast, we'll embark on another thrilling game drive in the Serengeti, with a chance to encounter the "Big Five" — lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards. Then, we'll journey towards the Ngorongoro Crater, where anticipation builds as we glimpse its splendor. We'll spend the evening at one of our carefully chosen accommodations, ensuring your comfort as you dream of the African wilderness.

Day 6: Ngorongoro crater

As dawn breaks, witness breathtaking vistas as the sun rises over the crater rim. After breakfast, descend into the UNESCO-listed Ngorongoro Crater, sculpted millions of years ago. Renowned for its dense wildlife population, including 25,000 ungulates and over 500 bird species, it offers unparalleled game viewing. Encounter wildebeests, zebras, elephants, and more, with luck spotting elusive black rhinos. After a comprehensive game drive and picnic lunch, bid farewell to the crater and return to Karatu for another night in our carefully selected accommodations.

Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

After breakfast, we'll head to Lake Manyara National Park, 120 kilometers west of Arusha. This diverse park is named after its shallow salt lake, home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 bird species. Encounter monkeys, giraffes, zebras, and more as we explore the park's varied landscapes, including grassy plains, woodlands, and dramatic cliffs. After another unforgettable game drive, we'll return to Arusha in the late afternoon, carrying cherished memories of the African wilderness.
