Fly-in Safaris Lodge Safaris

Three Mara days only work if you fly. The Narok road is five to six hours; this itinerary uses the scheduled hop from Wilson — about forty-five minutes in the air. You still sleep in the reserve the night before a full game day. You still do not pair a morning European arrival with a 10:00 game drive.

Arem is based in Arusha. A Kenya driver-guide meets you at the airstrip. Choose camping, mid-range, luxury or high-end. From August to October we aim the drives at the Mara River when the herds are in Kenya.

Day 1: Nairobi, fly to Masai Mara

You do not spend this day on the Narok road. After Nairobi collection we put you on the scheduled hop from Wilson Airport to the Masai Mara — about forty-five minutes in the air. A short transfer remains after you land. Afternoon game drive if the schedule holds. Arrival is still not a full safari day.

The flights sit on the quote as their own lines. Arem remains your Arusha contact. A Kenya driver-guide meets you at the airstrip.

Day 2: Full day in the Masai Mara

Dawn in the Mara is cold, gold, and noisy with birds. We work the river, the marsh or a conservancy gate depending on where the cats hunted overnight. Picnic or lodge lunch, then a second drive when the heat breaks.

You slept in the reserve or the neighbouring conservancy. You will sleep here again. That is the whole difference from a Nairobi day trip.

Day 3: Masai Mara, fly to Nairobi

Leaving the Masai Mara

A last cool game drive, then the airstrip for the included flight to Wilson. This is a travel morning. Do not book an international departure from Nairobi before late afternoon — connections fail, and we will not pretend a midday European flight is honest after a Mara hop.

Drop-off is at Jomo Kenyatta or a Nairobi hotel, which ends the safari. The Arem Safaris Team stays on WhatsApp from Arusha if the domestic schedule shifts.

When to travel

Season and routing

Three Mara days are honest only because you fly from Wilson. Book an evening international departure from Nairobi on day 3, not a morning one. August–October we aim at the river when the herds are in Kenya.

Four ways to travel the same parks. Pick one style for the whole safari, or mix nights — we quote what you actually want. Names below are properties we often confirm. The lodge or camp on your quote is the booking; nothing here is reserved until you approve it.

  1. Camping Safari tents, a cook, the night sounds of the park. The honest, close-to-the-ground way to safari.
  2. Mid-range En-suite lodges and tented camps we use most — a proper bed, a shower, and the game still at the door.
  3. Luxury Pools, full-service dining, the better rooms in the same parks.
  4. High-end Suite camps and private houses when the trip is built around silence and space.

Masai Mara

Camping

A reserve or conservancy campsite with Arem tents, or a simple tented camp with shared facilities — named on the quote.

Mid-range

Mara Sopa Lodge, Enchoro Wildlife Camp, Keekorok Lodge — reliable rooms, easy access to the reserve gates.

Luxury

Mara Serena Safari Lodge, Ashnil Mara, Mara Intrepids — full-service tented camps near the river or the escarpment.

High-end

Angama Mara, &Beyond Kichwa Tembo, Cottar’s 1920s Camp — suite tents, private vehicles on request. Conservancy fees apply when we sleep outside the national reserve.

  • Both domestic flights are included: Wilson to the Mara on day 1, and the return on day 3. They sit on the quote as their own lines.
  • Day 1 is still not a full game day. Afternoon drive if the schedule holds.
  • Do not book an international departure from Nairobi before late afternoon on day 3.
  • Reserve versus conservancy is named on the quote. Conservancy fees are extra when we sleep outside the national reserve.
