Itinerary

DAY 1: LEMOSHO GATE – MTI MKUBWA CAMP:

Elevation: 2389m/7838ft to 2785m/9137ft

Starting from Arusha, a scenic four-hour drive will lead you through charming mountainside villages to the entrance gate of Kilimanjaro National Park. Upon arrival, we will await the issuance of our permits, providing an opportunity to observe the bustling activity as numerous crews prepare for their respective journeys ahead.

As you embark on the trail, revel in the breathtaking rainforest vistas and winding pathways, accompanied by insightful commentary from your guide regarding the indigenous flora, fauna, and wildlife. Our journey across the plateau eventually leads us to Shira 2 camp, nestled amidst expansive moorland meadows beside a serene stream.

From there, our exploration continues to Moir Hut, a secluded location situated at the foot of Lent Hills. Progressing towards the summit amidst the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers, our focus remains on maintaining warmth and concentration, driven by the remarkable sense of achievement awaiting us. Employing a series of switchbacks in a northwesterly direction, we ascend through challenging scree terrain towards Stella Point on the crater rim.

Here, a brief respite offers the opportunity to witness a breathtaking sunrise, with swifter climbers potentially catching this spectacle from the summit itself. Continuing onward, the final hour's ascent to Uhuru Peak unveils a snowy landscape. Congratulations are in order as you step onto Uhuru Peak, the apex of Mount Kilimanjaro and the entire African continent! Following moments of photography, jubilation, and perhaps some tears of joy, we take a brief pause to savor this monumental achievement.
